Who Anadi Bank is

Anadi Bank is a regional Austrian bank with its head office on Inglitschstraße in Klagenfurt. Its roots lie in the Austrian banking business formerly run under the Hypo Alpe Adria name; that business was acquired in 2013 by Anadi Financial Holdings and later renamed. Today the bank describes itself as working across three areas: digital banking for private customers, public finance for municipalities and public bodies, and corporate banking for businesses.

For private customers, the important point is that Anadi has deliberately moved its retail offer online. Instead of a large branch network, you apply, verify your identity and manage your products digitally, with a customer care centre reachable by phone, contact form or scheduled call-back.

What it offers private customers

The retail range is compact, which makes it easy to understand:

  • Online consumer loan of up to €50,000 with a choice of fixed or variable interest and optional payment protection insurance. See our online loan guide.
  • Online current account in two flavours: a low-cost current (giro) account and a free salary or pension account, each with a debit card. Credit cards are also available. See the account guide.
  • Fixed-term deposit (Festgeld) for money you can lock away for a set period, covered in our fixed deposit guide.
  • Online savings (Tagesgeld), an instant-access savings account explained in the online savings guide.

Cash deposits and withdrawals are handled through partner tobacconists (Trafiken) rather than branches, which suits customers who rarely use cash but is worth checking if you do.

How the digital set-up works

Once you are a customer you receive access to Anadi internet banking, which works in the browser and through mobile apps for Android and iOS. Logins and payment orders are confirmed in a second, separate app called TresorTAN: each time the bank needs your approval, you see a number and confirm it in the app. We explain the process, and why it matters for security, in internet banking and TresorTAN explained.

Card controls such as Geo-Control let you restrict where your card can be used, and card blocking is available around the clock through the bank's official channels.

Who it suits and who it may not

Anadi is a reasonable fit if you are comfortable banking on your phone, want a straightforward consumer loan or savings product from an Austrian bank, and do not need a branch. The product pages and most documentation are in German, so English speakers should allow a little extra time to read the terms.

It may be a weaker fit if you handle a lot of cash, want face-to-face advice, or need a wide range of investment products. As with any bank, compare the current interest rates, fees and terms on the official site against at least two alternatives before you commit.

Before you apply

Always start from the official website, typed directly into your browser: anadibank.com. Rates and fee schedules change, and only the bank's own documents are binding. Read the price list (Gebührenaushang), the product terms and, for loans, the standard European Consumer Credit Information form before signing.
